Low-lying areas inundated as rain lashes Lahore, other parts of Punjab
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Thunderstorm hit majority of the cities in Punjab early Wednesday morning inundating several low-lying areas while different Lesco feeders tripped.
Heavy rain and gusts with thick clouds took the city by surprise in the morning when pleasant weather turned into a storm.
Several areas were blacked out as the downpour tripped different power feeders.
Two persons were injured in a roof collapse accident near Thokar Niaz Baig area owing to the thundershower.
Sources privy to rescue department stated that both the injured were taken out of the rubble and shifted to Jinnah Hospital.

Last night, four of a family were killed in another roof collapse incident on Lahore’s Multan Road and at least five sustained injuries.
Pakistan Meteorological Department had reported Tuesday that scattered rains were expected in Lahore, Gujranwala, Kashmir, Malakand, Hazara division and FATA among other cities.
The department has forecast rains in Lahore on Thursday as well. However, as of Tuesday’s report, the rest of the week is clear and would be sunny.
According to forecast for other cities for the coming 24 hours, isolated rain-thundershower with gusty winds is expected in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat divisions, FATA, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
