Qadri to announce next plan in Friday sit-in
LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Dr Tahir ul Qadri said that he would announce his future course of action during Friday's sit-in on Mall Road in Lahore.
"We will stage a sit-in tomorrow to demand justice for the martyrs of Model Town," Dr Qadri told SAMAA on the eve of his protest.
"There has been no headway whatsoever in the Model Town case and I request Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif to play his role to deliver justice," he said.
Dr Qadri noted that the Model Town FIR had also been lodged on the intervention of the army chief.
The PAT leader returned to Pakistan on Tuesday to mark the second anniversary of the 2014 Model Town massacre, in which 14 workers of Minhaj ul Quran were killed.
Two women were also among those killed in the deadly clash with the police.
Dr Qadri blamed the PML-N leadership for the mayhem, a charge the ruling party denies.
